The members of Harbury MU meet together to knit for charity including baby clothes and blankets for the Special Care Unit at Warwick Hospital, prayer shawls for Myton Hospice and bobble hats for seafarers and refugees.

The parish of Harbury sends the Mission to Seafarers some 3-400
hats for seafarers every winter thanks to a group of
knitters called the Harbury Knitwits. They are encouraged
by long-serving honorary secretary Lt Bill Davies
RN who was at sea for 40 years himself and “knows
what it is like to be in a North Atlantic gale in the
winter”. The hats from Harbury are wonderful, says
Glynn Snow of the fundraising department. “They are
beautifully knitted and must be much prized by the
seafarers who get them,” he says.
