Hereburgh Morris is a mixed Cotswold Morris team from the village of Harbury near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, in the heart of England.
We started our team in April 1987 without any previous Morris experience or traditions.
We are members of the Morris Federation.
Our current membership stands at 31: 10 men and 21 women.
11 of our members are also active Morris musicians.
Our repertoire includes Ascott-under-Wychwood, Bampton, Bledington, Lichfield, Eynsham and Adderbury plus our own Harbury dances and a little Border for variety.
We practise every Wednesday evening at 8pm in Harbury School Hall and retire to a local pub at around 10pm.
On average, we perform about 30 times a year and we celebrated our 500th performance in September 2004.
We have danced abroad on 8 occasions: four visits to Germany, two to France, one to Ireland and one to Holland.

Hereburgh Morris recently celebrated another milestone - our 600th performance during our 21-year history. On June 11th, 2008, we danced at 'The Shoulder of Mutton' pub at Grandborough with our guests, Coventry Morris. Nice pub, good beer, excellent dancing spot, good weather and a sociable Coventry Morris.

Want to have a go at some Morris Dancing?

Postby pedro » Thu 24 Sep 2009 9:45 am

Hereburgh Morris is offering a 'taster' evening on Wednesday, October 14th, for anyone who would like to sample this enjoyable style of traditional dance. Everyone is welcome and there is no cost or obligation to continue. You'll have a chance to watch the team practising and then try some dancing yourself.

Please come to Harbury School Hall at 8pm. We normally retire to one of the village pubs at 10pm.
