Harbury has always been known as a very friendly club and as well as success on the field the club is keen to have an active social side. During the summer months the playing side has been reorganised by Dave Andrews and a new player coach Sean Geary has been appointed helped by Tony Cowley who has been responsible for much of the recent success the club has enjoyed. Club Captain Matthew Knight who due to injury is unable to play at present is working hard with the coaches and team captain Mark Finch aiming to have another successful playing season.

The clubhouse has been completely refurbished over the summer which again is very much due to the hard work by many of the members. The result of all this work means that Harbury Rugby Club boasts one of the best playing and social facilities of any junior club in Warwickshire.

Worth remembering that there is an active junior section at Harbury RFC, which fields around 80 juniors each week. Supported by CRB checked & RFU qualified coaches, boys and girls of all ages are invited to come along at 10:30 on Sunday mornings during the rugby season to join in with the activities.

The 1st XV

Harbury have a break from a successful start to their Midlands 5 League campaign with four wins out of five starts. They play Old Griffinians, a Birmingham based club, in the 3rd Round of the EDF Junior Vase, at OG's ground.Kick off is at 3.00pm

The 2nd XV

On Sunday 19th October Harbury 2nd's have a tough fixture in the Warwickshire 2nd XV Cup against Barker Butts a side three levels above them.
Kick Off is at 2.15 pm at Middle Road. All support greatly welcome. Last Saturday Warwickshire League opponents Coventrians cried off at 1.40pm to
leave a team of players without a match. Ironically Southam 2nds also had their match cancelled earlier in the day when their opponents withdrew. However, by the time contact was made it was too late.

The 3rd XV

We have been greatly encouraged by the numbers making themselves available for third team matches. To date they have played two games - both against Southam with the score one win apiece.

Junior and Mini Section

In spite of some dreadful weather the organisers pulled out all the stops and put on an excellent day at the beginning of October at the 19th Annual Mini Rugby Festival - well done to all involved.

Harbury 3s are playing a friendly at home this Saturday against Kenilworth 3s. Kick Off is 3pm. Harbury's team consists of a number of U18s who have now played a couple of senior games and are showing great promise for future progression. We are playing on the top pitch which although away from the clubhouse is still a great place for people to come along and show their support, all are welcome.

Harbury RFC are again taking part in what used to be called the Floodlit 40s competition on Wednesday nights. Each Floodlit game consists of two 20 minute halves played with a full 15 man team under League rules. Our most recent fixture was against Shipston away at Shipston last Wednsday night. Unfortunately, we lost in the last couple of minutes with a break away try from Shipston's captain. We are now looking forward to our next game against Staratford away at Leamington in two weeks time.
