Recycling bin

Postby billtee45 » Sat 16 Aug 2008 11:31 am

Talk about recycling! We've always used our (now old) black box to recycle our tins, bottles and magazines, but with our blue wheelie bin we're able to dispose of all the PLASTIC and CARDBOARD as well, and what a pile of rubbish it has made.
I never realised just how much plastic we throw out -- milk bottles, drink bottles and packaging. Packaging has just astonished us (and we are just two retired people with no dogs, no children!) -- our recycling bin is now almost half full, and only a week has passed since it was emptied.
Perhaps the supermarkets could reduce their (probably very expensive) packaging so that we wouldn't have to throw it out as soon as it arrives home.
